WEA Cents for Kids Grant Form
The Cents For Kids Grant is used to provide funds for our members so that they may assist students to be better prepared for learning. The grants will be divided into two broad areas.Academic Opportunity Grants
Awarded to educators for innovative instructional and/or enrichment activities that will enhance the learning experience of WPS students. Examples are:- Prizes for academic activities or contests
- Materials for craft or art projects
- Money for a guest speaker or artifact kits or trunks from museums.
- Purchase of electronic aids for classrooms
- Purchase of classroom book sets
- Subscriptions to educational computer programs
- Maintenance of electronic aids used in class.
- Transportation cost to attend education activities or events.
- Instruments for future musicians
Social Service Grants
Used to help students with necessary clothing, school supplies, and/or medical assistance. Examples are to provide a student with:
- A warm coat for winter
- School supplies
- A scientific calculator
- Taxi fare to the doctor.
- Eyeglasses or a visit to the ophthalmologist
- Membership fees to YMCA or similar organizations
