100th Annual Delegate Assembly

Delegate Assembly is the top policy-making body of the Colorado Education Association. Delegate Assembly is composed of several hundred members across the state, elected by members to attend the CEA’s largest meeting every April.

Delegates use a democratic process to set policy and provide direction to union leadership by voting on proposed bylaw amendments, Resolutions and new business items (NBIs). Delegates also receive reports from CEA staff and leadership.

The delegates also elect members to serve as CEA President, Vice President and Secretary-Treasurer for three-year terms and Board Directors for two-year terms. The CEA Board of Directors sets policy and provides direction for the union between Delegate Assemblies. Other positions elected include Regional Representatives to the Colorado Fund for Children and Public Education.

Become a Delegate

Active members (non-retired) are elected as delegates through their locals, and most locals hold their elections in January.

If you’re interested in serving as a delegate, contact your local president by the end of January.

Retired members will receive election information in the CEA-R Communicator newsletter.
