Frances Groff Gonzales and Eric Herold, WEA Uniserv attended the CEA Lobby Day and Rally at the State Capitol on February 29th to advocate for educators and lobby for the elimination of the Budget Stabilization Factor. Legislation has now been introduced. While this is a huge win for education funding, unfortunately with the elimination of the BS Factor, education funding levels in Colorado are only at 1989 levels so there is quite a bit of work still needing to be done, but it’s a start.
