Larimer County- The Colorado Appeals Court denied a motion by the Thompson School District to stay an injunction issued by the Larimer District Court last month. Denial of this stay reinforced that the School District has to abide by the district court’s order and continue to recognize the Thompson Education Association and maintain the current conditions of employment.

“The current injunction provides the structure and expectations that our students and teachers need. We are disappointed that the board majority will not collaborate with teachers to make our schools better for our students. As educators our goal to provide a world class education to our students. Spending time and money in the court room instead of mediating is not a good use of the limited resources that we have” Andy Crisman, Thompson Education Association President.

The Court of Appeals appointed three judges to consider the stay and those judges voted not to grant the stay. .
