Laura Strong of Sherrelwood was awarded a WEA Cents for Kids grant.

Thank you so much for approving the grant  that allowed me to purchase the yearly subscription to Brain Pop Jr. Brain Pop Jr is an educational site that has targeted animated videos which are age appropriate for my Level 1 students. The content areas range from Math, Science, Social Studies, Reading and Writing, Art and Technology, and Health. I often use them to introduce a new target, summarize a unit, or review. The students love the animated characters of a little girl named Annie and her humorous rob ot friend, Moby. My students look forward to the videos and the brief quizzes we do as a class. Since we do not have formal Science or Social Studies curriculums, Brain Pop Jr helps me plan engaging and fun lessons.
